A report to Canadian Tire shareholders published last Friday by the company announced a solid fourth quarter in 2011 and left room for speculation that the end of its iconic Canadian Tire currency may be near.

Though the report did not mention its currency directly, it stated that, "The company continues to evolve its customer loyalty programs and customer-centric retailing innitiatives, with a pilot of its new loyalty program planned to launch in a test market."

Fourth quarter results and the full report are available here.
